Sports Psychology
My brother has his trails for A.C.T Rubgy league on Tuesday and last week he injured his knee in school sport. He has been working up to this trial for weeks and now he may not be able to trail. What does a coach do in this situation? Sports psychology is a huge aspect of coaching. The relationship between a coach and their athlete becomes critical in these situations. A coach needs to be able to relate emotionly with their athlete in helping them deal with injury, they need to offer support as well as knowledgable advice as to how to train for their injury. We will wait and see what happens with my brother.
