Introduction (aims for session, reminders, etc.): The main objective of this session is for athletes to execute running hard and fast (drive) onto the ball and receive the pass without stopping or slowing down before they have caught the ball. The is advantageous in a game of netball in that it will promote clear flow down the court and ensure that quick and concise cutting towards the ball occurs, making it hard for the opposing defenders to take the ball. Athletes must remember to land on their outside foot when receiving the ball and that when running towards the ball, during takeoff, the first foot movements needs to be forward, there should be no back step to help push off. Athletes should pass the ball as quickly as they can after receiving the pass, ensuring they have correct technique and accuracy when doing so to reach their intended target.
